Understanding Motion Controls

🔄 How Tilting Works

FiveHead uses your iPhone's motion sensors to detect tilting. No buttons to fumble with while the phone is on your forehead!

  • Tilt Back (phone tilts up) - Mark as CORRECT and move to next word
  • Tilt Forward (phone tilts down) - PASS/SKIP to the next word
  • Return to neutral - Hold phone upright between tilts

💡 Tips for Best Results

  • Make deliberate tilting motions - don't be too subtle
  • Return to a neutral position between each answer
  • Keep your phone flat against your forehead
  • Don't tilt sideways - only forward and back

Q: Can I play solo or do I need a group?

FiveHead is designed for groups of 2+ people. You need teammates to give you clues since you can't see the screen when the phone is on your forehead. While technically you could practice alone, it's much more fun (and possible!) with friends.

Q: How many categories are included?

FiveHead includes 50+ categories spanning movies, music, famous people, animals, food, sports, history, science, and more. All categories are included with your purchase - no locked content or additional purchases required.

Q: Are there any subscriptions or in-app purchases?

No! FiveHead is a one-time purchase with no subscriptions, no ads, and no in-app purchases. You get the complete game forever.

Q: What does the streak system do?

When you get 2+ correct answers in a row, you'll see a streak counter appear. At milestones (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 correct in a row), you'll get special celebration effects and haptic feedback. It's a fun way to reward hot streaks!

Q: How does the Random Words mode work?

Random Words mode mixes words from ALL categories into one chaotic round. Instead of getting all sports or all movies, you'll get a complete mix - perfect for variety and unpredictability!

Q: Does my game history sync between devices?

Game history, favorites, and personal bests are stored locally on your device. They don't sync across devices or to the cloud. This ensures your data stays private and never leaves your iPhone.

Q: What iOS version do I need?

FiveHead requires iOS 17.0 or later for the best experience with all features including smooth animations and motion effects.

Troubleshooting

🔧 Common Issues

Motion detection feels too sensitive or not sensitive enough:

  • The motion thresholds are calibrated for typical head movements
  • Try making more deliberate, distinct tilting motions
  • Ensure you return to neutral (upright) position between tilts

App crashes or freezes:

  • Make sure you're running the latest version of FiveHead
  • Restart your iPhone
  • Check that your iOS is up to date
  • If problems persist, contact support with your device model and iOS version

Timer seems to skip or jump:

  • This is usually caused by the device being under heavy load
  • Close other apps running in the background
  • Restart the app

Categories won't load:

  • Try force-closing and reopening the app
  • Make sure you have enough free storage space
  • Restart your device

  • Data Deletion: Simply delete the app to remove all data
